"I recommend Christine to every pregnant person I know! I have had five births and Christine
has been my doula for the last three. Everybody and each baby is a different birth experience. If
you are having a hospital birth she can be instrumental in helping you to decide what action
needs to be taken during your labor/birthing. Husbands are sometimes uncertain of what they
should do. It is a blessing really to have someone that can help you make INFORMED decisions.
Plus, your husband might feel more relaxed to concentrate on YOU if Christine is there to help
guide and reassure him and you. You will not regret hiring her...and you will want her for any
other babies you might have!"
~ Amy had one birth-center birth and two hospital births (Frederick Memorial) with
Christine in attendance.
"Christine was wonderful! I looked into a few others, but she seemed so nice on the phone and
was so experienced, with actual births and classes/ workshops. When I met her I knew she was
right for me. She was energetic and upbeat, but quiet and kind. She worked great with my
family, ready to excuse them from the room if they got too overbearing, and supportive and kind
to them as they tried to help me through my birth. She talked and emailed with me numerous
times before the big day, which ended up starting at midnight! She was at my house 2 hours later
and sat with me as I moved through contractions until 8am when we decided to go to the
hospital. My husband was so tired and my mom didn't arrive until 6am, so she was only one with
me though the night, counting contractions, reminding me to breathe & doze, and just chatting
the time away with me. It seems funny to say I really enjoyed her company. The biggest thing
was that she took the load off of my husband and mom - that they didn't really need to "know" it
all, and that they could just be with me was great. A huge relief to my husband. She directed
them nicely during the hospital hours, and was very careful and professional with the staff, not
getting in their way or making the doctor feel guarded. It was very good to have someone there
to remember everything I wanted: nurses to read my birth plan (which she helped me to
finalize!), husband to eat, me to move and do the things I wanted to remember, etc.
I thought she was great - personally and professionally! I say buy used baby furniture, save a few
hundred dollars and spend it on Christine!"

"In a perfect world, all women would have a doula! The support, reassurance, comfort, and
knowledge that Christine shared with us during pregnancy and birth was a wonderful gift.
Even though the natural birth we were hoping for became a c-section because our son was
stubbornly breech, we were very grateful to have Christine with us before, during and after the
c-section. My husband was reassured by having her on our team.
I was so grateful to have Christine at my side in the operating room when my husband left to
go to the nursery with our son minutes after his birth. She also helped us get breastfeeding off to
a great start and I've successfully nursed my son past 1 year. When we're expecting again, we'll
be calling Christine!"

"Christine is a wonderful doula. She is extremely supportive of the laboring mother’s desires,
even if they vary from her own personal preferences; which is very important when choosing
your birth team. She is a wealth of knowledge but isn’t too pushy. It is her goal to inform her
clients and then let them make the decisions that are best for their unique needs. She makes
herself readily available either for personal consultations or phone calls and is attentive and
emotionally “available” when you need her.
During my labors, she has been invaluable! My husband wants to support me but often finds, in
the moment, he doesn’t quite know how. Christine has a wonderful way of allowing the husband
to be there for his partner but then stepping in when he is showing signs of fatigue or wear. I am
very educated about childbirth and will probably go into doula/childbirth education work when
my children are older. But even still, when I’m in labor, that head knowledge doesn’t always
translate into action. She is fantastic at reminding the laboring mother to change positions or
try different techniques to bring more comfort. She was more than helpful – she was truly a
blessing."
~ Christina just had her 7th child. Christine was in attendance for the last 4 - one at a birth
center and the other three at home.
